IDEA: Portfolio-Group work- Competition (It’s not just any wall project, ADPP)



Finalist of Art & Design in Public Places Program competition "It's Not Just Any Wall" Call to Artists november 2002 Title: City Segments, Designer: Shoko Cesar and help of John Greg Ball This artwork is a part of map of Edmonton, on the profile the silhouette of down town Edmonton. This art work was to be made of multiple sections. First the background will be made of aluminum sheeting representing different part of city of Edmonton. Second part is an aluminum sheet cut in the shape of Saskatchewan River to unify the city. The third part will be aluminum rods shaped in the form of streets and avenues. Also these rods will serve as a texture and to add detail to the piece. The piece will be mounted on the wall one part over the other to create a three dimensional layers.
